Tuesday marks a week before Baltimore city Democrats and Republicans choose their parties’ nominee for mayor.

Because of the large voter registration advantage Democrats enjoy in the city, the primary is generally viewed as the de facto election. 

A recent poll by the Baltimore Sun reveals Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake with a commanding lead in the Democratic primary.

Otis Rolley, Sen. Catherine Pugh, Joseph T. “Jody” Landers and Clerk of the Circuit Court Frank Conaway Sr. are among those still fighting to oust Rawlings-Blake.
