Homebuyer Education Class (HUD-Approved)

Achieving the American Dream of homeownership is a path with many steps. If you are a prospective homeowner or simply interested in learning the ins-and-outs of the home purchasing process, this is the class for you.

By attending this class, you will learn:

-what it takes to become a successful home buyer

-how to compare and obtain a mortgage

-the mortgage application process

-home maintenance

Additionally, please bring the following items: most recent pay stubs for 1 month, (if self employed) past three years of tax returns with all attachments, W2 tax forms from 2008 and 2009, most recent bank statements for 2 months, most recent credit report from a certified lender, (if you do not have a recent credit report) bring a check or money order for $16 to have it pulled, (if applicable) pre-approval letter, and state issued photo I.D./drivers license.

This curriculum requires you to participate in an 8-hour class as well as one-on-one counseling with a HUD certified housing counselor. Once you have completed these requirements, you will receive the certificate you need in order to participate in many of the state and local First-Time Homebuyer (incentive) programs.

This is a two-part class and participants should be prepared to attend on Thursday, March 3, 2010 and Thursday, March 10, 2010.
