Mount Washington School Seeks $50,000 Grant

The Mount Washington School is competing for a $50,000 grant and needs your vote.

The school is participating in Clorox’s Power a Bright Future program through Dec. 19. The school needs to win the most votes and finish first in the explore category of the contest to win the grant, according to the contest’s website.

Currently the school is ranked No. 34 in its category.

The grant will be used to improve play space, add more computers to classrooms and resources for the school’s International Baccalaureate program, according to an email from Jill Feinberg, a member of the school’s parent teacher organization.

Supporters at least 13 years old may vote twice in 24 hours via text message by sending the code 2366pbf to the number 95248 or online at www.VoteMWS.com.

The Mount Washington School was formed in 2010 by adding middle school grades to what was then just the Mount Washington Elementary School.

Previously the elementary school has been recognized as a prestigious Blue Ribbon School, home to former teacher of the year winners and is considered one of the best schools in Baltimore City.
