Notre Dame of Maryland Unveils New Logo

The new logo is part of the college's transition to a university.

The College of Notre Dame of Maryland unveiled its new logo on Friday. The change is part of the school’s transition into a university.

The new branding can be seen on the school’s website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

According a press release, at the heart of the new identity is a blue and white rose with pale yellow accents. The rose is framed by a cross and shield.

“Inspired by the beautiful mystic rose of Our Lady — Notre Dame — the new design perfectly reflects our rich history and tradition with a contemporary interpretation suited to our new role as a university,” President Mary Pat Seurkamp said in a press release.

Notre Dame will be designated a university on Sept. 9.
