O'Malley to Host Digital Learning Roundtable in White Marsh

Governor O'Malley will join educators from around the region Tuesday to discuss the future of teaching and learning.

Governor Martin O'Malley is hosting a roundtable on digital learning Wednesday afternoon in White Marsh to discuss the future of education and the role of technology in schools.

Educators from across the region will attend the discussion in the state that is the home of the country's top-ranked public school system.

O'Malley will be joined by former West Virginia Governor and current president of the Alliance for Excellent Education Bob Wise, Maryland State Superintendent Lillian Lowery and educators from Baltimore, Garrett and Frederick Counties.

In September, O'Malley announced two new funds that granted $5.5 million to public institutions across the state, with the purpose of equipping schools with modern technologies and helping students expand their STEM education.

"We must ensure that our educators and institutions are equipped to provide students with the knowledge and skills that will fuel innovation in the future," O’Malley said in a statement.

The roundtable will start at 2 p.m. at Vincent Farm Elementary School, 6019 Ebenezer Road in White Marsh.
