The President's Cup Leads Off In North Baltimore

Boys' Latin, Mervo, Friends and Dunbar play at Johns Hopkins University in the opening round of a new city baseball tournament.

The President's Cup, a tournament started by Baltimore City Council President Bernard "Jack" C. Young, tries to reintroduce a little baseball rivalry between some of the city's most prominent private and public schools.

The action at Johns Hopkins University was decidedly in favor of the private schools.

In the first game of a double-header, Friends School hung on to defeat Dunbar, 7-4. In the second game, Boys' Latin rolled over Mervo, 13-2.
