Ethel & Ramone's
410-664-2971
Opened in 1993, Ethel & Ramone's blends Maryland cuisine with New Orleans creole food in a setting that feels akin to a good friend's eclectic dining room. Part-owner and chef Ed Bloom, a Baltimore native who trained under Chef Paul Prudhomme, is best known for his authentic gumbo, which is cooked in a specially prepared rich stew and joined with a choice of spicy andouille sausage, bronzed chicken, shrimp, crab or seafood combination. A small bar in the back offers great viewing of the open kitchen. Ethel & Ramone's can also be found the downtown Farmer's Market on Sundays.
