The Franciscans represent a wonderful example of what is needed in this city. Their kindness toRead More the poor and helping families who are homeless is a cry for help from the City. There are too many people in and on the streets of this city that require help and the current plans need serious work to improve the lives of these individuals. Try to remember that these are also people who work daily at regular jobs but the income generated is not sufficient to have an apartment to live in. Some of the schools in the city have populations where 98% of the population are living at the poverty level and/or below the poverty level. It is time to take notice and help the Franciscans and all others who are working to make life better for so many of our families in Baltimore City.

What the heck is going on down there? We've got kids that want to skate and no where to send themRead More locally....why do we have the money and still nothing happening?

Good luck, dude, you'll need it. You won't get any help from the city and you'll soon discover mostRead More of your fellow city residents don't give a hoot about litter, much less rats and crime. If you really want to go after the trash problem start dialing in some 311 complaints on serial sanitation code offenders, but you'll soon find out that the city really doesn't care and some offenders will verbally attack you. I've been there - done that.

Fantastic idea and one that can be accomplished. First thing though is to get the schools behindRead More you to develop programs that used to exist about littering. Some of the ideas were a little dated, but it was amazing in that children reminded their parents to stop littering. Baltimore used to be a very clean city, apparently from reviewing the photographs of men, women and children washing their front steps and having plants in front of their homes. It still can be and a anti-littering campaign is a great way to go about it. For the boys and girls clubs/scouts give a merit badge or something equivalent on developing a anti-littering campaign. Good for you.
