Frank MacArthur, aka Baltimore Spectator, the blogger who live streamed his standoff with police from inside his Waverly home last December, pleaded guilty to possession of a sawed off shotgun in Baltimore City Circuit Court Wednesday. Mark Cheshire, a spokesman for the Baltimore City State's Attorney's office, said prosecutors were seeking a five year sentence, but MacArthur was sentenced to three years with all but six months suspended. MacArthur, who has been held without bail since his arrest, will receive credit for time served. Frank MacArthur, aka A.F. James MacArthur, the blogger who live streamed his standoff with Baltimore police last year, will go to trial in May. MacArthur, 47, appeared in Baltimore Circuit Court for arraignment Monday and his trial date is scheduled to start 2 p.m., May 8. He pleaded not guilty to charges of possessing an unregistered shotgun and resisting arrest. MacArthur also asked that his bail be reset, but was told the arraignment was not the proper place for that request. On Saturday night, the information age presented the Baltimore area with a highly unusual situation. Local blogger Frank James MacArthur, aka A.F. A Baltimore State’s Attorney's spokesman confirmed that MacArthur had been denied bail on Wednesday afternoon. MacArthur surrendered peacefully, police said.
