Alumna Donates $1.5M to Bryn Mawr School

The gift will go toward faculty support.

The Bryn Mawr School announced Tuesday it received a $1.5 million donation from an alumna for faculty support. According to a news release, it is the largest donation ever made to the school for that purpose.   "This alumna’s philanthropic investment will be a catalyst that will benefit girls for years to come," Headmistress Maureen E. Walsh said in the release. "I am gratified and inspired by her extraordinary gift in support of those who have the greatest influence on our students and to whom they form enduring bonds." The school will create an endowed faculty chair in honor of the alumna, who wishes to remain anonymous. It is the fifth gift of $1 million or more made to the school.
