Utility will hold recycling events this weekend in Dundalk and Cockeysville.
BGE residential customers will be able to get a $25 reward for dropping off room air-conditioning units this weekend for recycling. The utility is hosting the recycling events at Sears stores at Eastpoint Mall in Dundalk and Hunt Valley Towne Centre in Cockeysville. Working units will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., according to a news release, which adds that BGE employees will be available to unload the units. Customers will receive the $25 per each unit recycled (up to two) in a check about four weeks later as part of the utility's Smart Energy Savers program. Ruth C. Trash and recycling will not be collected on Christmas and New Year’s days.
There will be not trash and recycling collection on Christmas and New Year’s days, and citizen drop off centers will be closed, according to the Department of Public Works. Make up days for trash and recycling collection will be held on Dec. 29 and Jan. 5. Both Christmas and New Year's days are city holidays, so street sweeping will also be cancelled and parking meters will not be in effect, according to a news release.

The city is asking residents to follow a few steps to reduce the amount of trash created.
This has nothing to do with a platinum selling pop-punk band and everything to do about recycling. Today is American Recycling Day and the Department of Public Works is asking city residents to celebrate by taking the Green Day Challenge and reduce the amount of trash they produce, according to a news release.
