Report: Seawall Sells First Remington Rehab Home

The developer has focused on providing solid, affordable housing options for teachers.

Seawall Development Corporation has sold its first rehabbed home as part of its Miller’s Square rehab projects in Remington, according to the Baltimore Messenger. The newspaper reported the home, at 307 Lorraine Ave., has been sold to Sean Flanigan, a 36-year-old single father, and that renovations should be complete on the home by Christmas time.     In March, Donald Manekin, of Seawall, told Patch that rehabbing homes near the companies Miller’s Court rehabilitation project was a logical next step for the company. "We have an opportunity to create a community of homes, and not a one-off house," Manekin said at the time. Senator Brick Color Draws Objections

Detractors of the Senator Theatre's current operators question materials proposed for outer renovations of the building.

Even selecting the color of the brick used for the rehab of the Senator Theatre can draw protests. On Tuesday, the Commission for Historical and Architectural Preservation voted to allow developers to use “golden rod” brick for the planned renovations of the historic art deco movie theater. But the commission added the caveat that it makes an on site visit within next two month to review the work. But critics of the proposed redevelopment sent emails and letters critical of the proposal that were read on to the record. Click here to read some of the letters.
