Re the eagle story. Years ago, I did an article on the re-emergence of the bald eagle thanks to the Patuxent Wildlife Research Institute. I asked a scientist what the average natural lifespan of an eagle is. His answer astounded me. He said they didn't really know because they hadn't found one that had died of natural causes.   more ›
