  • Of the listing Roosevelt Park

    ***

Roosevelt Park offers several ballpark fields, a swimming pool in the summer, communal garden area, and now a rebuilt play area. A meeting house hosts community events and meetings in Hampden. There is a also a skateboarding park behind the meeting house. Perhaps one of the bigger draws is the flow of dog walkers. In the evening there can be parties of dogs playing with other dogs.

  • Of the listing The Dizz Grandview

    ****

The Dizz at the Grandview offers amazing views of Baltimore and surrounding areas. Their menu is the same as the original Dizz with some extras for local residents. Their menu includes different sandwiches, platters, seafood, and a large case of desert pies that are to die for. The atmosphere is relaxed and very casual and the staff easy going.

  • Of the listing Hopkins Deli

    ****

Hopkins Deli is a nice, casual place to get a good sandwich or enjoy some great pizza. During lunch hours they offer lunch specials. During the busier times seating can be hard to come by but generally there are open tables.

  • Of the listing Howl

    *****

How is an amazing resource for all things dogs and cats. They offer healthy foods, toys, medicines, and other items. The staff are very helpful and they can be a great resource for advice on pet needs. Some of the pet toys are unique to say the least. There is even a guard cat on premises. There is also free parking in the back of the store.

  • Of the listing Woodward's Auction House

    ****

Woodward's offers a huge selection of antiques arranged in different cabinets, tables, and showcases. In the back is an auction area where items are auctioned off. One can browse through their many selections of different merchandise for hours.

  • Of the listing David's Used Furniture

    ****

David's Furniture has been a favorite in Hampden for years. The used furniture store offers furniture and sometimes collectibles at decent prices. Over the years I have purchased cabinets, a bed, and chairs at the store. Delivery is available for a small fee. The best times to stop by are probably on Tuesdays when they have brought in new furniture.

  • Of the listing Atomic Books

    ****

Atomic Pop is a very well known resource for unique books, gifts, and media items. Once known as Atomic Books, the store continues to thrive on Falls Rd. Anyone looking for independent artwork, music, and movies will find a home here. Their magazine selection is top notch for artsy magazines and independent productions.

  • Of the listing Common Ground

    *****

Common Grounds is a must stop over for anyone looking for a cup of coffee or a breakfast sandwich during the morning hours. Its casual, laid back atmosphere welcomes all people to try out the natural foods, bagels, and sandwiches. Dining areas are present in the front and back of the restaurant where people can lay back and read while enjoying a cup of coffee.

  • Of the listing Breathe Books

    *****

Breathe books is a great resource for many materials from eastern spiritual and religious traditions. They not only offer many books on eastern thought, but they also offer candles, clothing, incense, music, and jewelry.

  • Of the listing Burger King

    ***

For the usual fast food restaurant, this BK is not too bad. They have a fairly sizable eating area and a drive through window.
