Oh, but the police say crime is not up in Catonsville?! Really!! Again, if this state would allow it's law abiding citizen access to their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, maybe these home break ins and rapes wouldn't be happening so frequently!!!! In our state of Maryland, the only people assured of bearing arms are the criminals and 99% of their guns are NOT registered and you can be sure they were not purchased legally. Guns don't kill people - guns can protect a knowledgable homeowner or poor girl in an alley. Every state that allows the law abiding citizen the ability to obtain a permit to carry, has training qualifications and extensive background checks. The difference is, the good guys can legally carry a gun and I assure you, those states also have significant less crimes like we are seeing here in Catonsville!!

I live two streets away from the bridge and although I know it will be a great improvement when it's completed, right now, the noise in the overnight period (when most of the construction/destruction is taking place) is unbelievable!! I am awaken nightly anywhere from just after midnight to 2 or 3 am with crazy loud banging and that is sleeping with all my windows closed! This brings me to another pet peeve of mine - and yes, I realize I am selfishly complaining but why doesn't the section from Frederick Road to Edmonson, inside the beltway, the ONLY section to not have sound barriers??!! The poor people living on Woodlawn and Arbutus Avenues have to be insomniacs at night with the downshifting trucks and Ninja motorcycles going past. I have called the Department of Highway and they have no clear answers either except to say that during noise testing, we definitely scored high enough to receive barriers. So where's the love? I will conclude my rant with this - my sympathies go out to those residents one street closer than mine - I feel your pain! What can we do to get our barriers?
