ReplyMost Harford County employees do a great job. Like other businesses there are always some who take advantage of their employers. It is a shame that someone who is well paid and has excellent benefits would jeopardize their career for some gas that does not belong to them. There are plenty of people who would like to have their jobs.

ReplyIf these men were responsible for the deaths of our two navy personnel I hope that they throw the book at them.

ReplyHow easy it is for Gahler to criticize the Sheriff when he does not have the responsibility. Sheriff Bane has done an outstanding job during his six years in office. He knows what his needs are to protect the citizens of Harford County. His term has seen a decrease in crime, a decrease in gang activity and the addition of jail space and a new facility in Edgewood. Having been a State Police Officer does not equate to running county sheriffs office. The voters of Harford County made a wise decision when Sheriff Bane won election over Gahler and will do so again in next years election. It is always easy to complain when you have no responsibility.

On the article LETTER: Gahler Outlines Traffic Concerns

ReplyAs you drive on the roads in Harford County watch how many people are texting while driving, talking on a hand held cell phone, cutting in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed and reading a book while driving. Our roads are not wide enough to handle the volume of traffic especially on routes 24, Mountain road and Churchville road during rush hours. Without adequate staff there are not enough deputies and state police officers to handle the volume of traffic. There is a hiring freeze on county employees. The Sheriff can only use the assets that he has. Another problem we have is the number of accidents that are caused by our youth who drive at high rates of speed especially at night and early ;morning. We have lost too many young people who have been killed by high speed accidents and drug use.. This has to be addressed by the schools when these children are starting to learn to drive. I believe that a program is in effect at the schools. Perhaps that program needs to be enhanced. The parents of our young people who are driving could help by teaching their children good driving habits and leading by example when their children are in their car. At any rate our Sheriff and his deputies are doing a great job with the assets that they have to work with.

ReplyShould have happened at the end of last year. Harbaugh realizes that he can no longer protect Cameron without putting his self at risk. Too bad we had to wait until the season is nearly over.

ReplyI would give Trinity Lutheran Church in Joppa the money necessary to build the food building to distribute food to the needy and donate 90% of my winnings to help those in need. I would use the other 10% to help my six children and their families achieve financial independence.

They probably waited until they stole over $1000 worth of gas. This makes it a felony.
