Remington Community Group Handing Out Recycling Bins

The Greater Remington Improvement Association is holding its second "Rock Remington Community Picnic."

The Greater Remington Improvement Association will be giving away free recycling bins to neighborhood residents on Sunday as part of its "Rock Remington Community Picnic."

This is the second year the group will host the event, which begins at 11:30 a.m., at the corner of Sisson and 27th streets.

Residents will be able to paint their recycling bins and also decorate potted plants.

There will also be music by The Gold-Bug, Dead Whale Ramblers and Caleb Stine

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is also scheduled to attend the picnic.

Last year the event served as a kickoff to a community cleanup effort, and residents were given free trash cans to decorate.
