Program Seeks 500 Jobs for City Youth
City businesses have already pledged to provide 276 summer jobs for residents between 16 and 21 years old.
Baltimore’s Hire One Youth program wants to provide 500 summer jobs to residents between the age of 16 and 21 years old.
In a news release, Greater Baltimore Committee President Don Fry, who also chairs the Hire One Youth leadership committee, announced that so far 89 local businesses had committed to providing 276 jobs to local youths.
"Many local business leaders recognize that participating in Hire One Youth collectively benefits the city and the Baltimore business community as much as it benefits these young workers individually," Fry said in the release.

This is the second year the city has held the Hire One Youth program, which is part of the overall YouthWorks summer job program.
Businesses that want to participate in the Hire One Youth program can register through an online form.

According to the news release these are some of the organizations that have pledged to hire at least one youth this summer:
- Baltimore Convention Center
- Charm City Yoga
- Mercy Medical Center
- Stifel Nicolaus & Company
- Turner Construction Company
- University of Maryland Baltimore
